January 2018 Meeting and Show and Tell

The first meeting of 2018 was attended by 60+ members with some snowbirds already in warmer climates!  It was a chilly and icy day for the brave souls that came.😊

Lets move right in to Show and Tell:

Jennifer S designs and makes a quilt yearly for UNB to raise money for Breast Cancer.  Here is this year's contribution!

Marj D and Joan B made a Maple Leaf quilt for auction at Stepping Stones Senior's Centre. Lovely isn't it? Lots of work.

Joyce did a miniature of the Chinese Lantern pattern that was being taught at  today's workshop.

After every meeting a caring group of our members hand quilt quietly (and sometimes not so quietly teehee) just enjoying the craft together.  Thanks so much ladies!!

Today, the Chinese Lantern class was taught by Joan B with Evelyn MacN as her trusty coteacher.
Here are the ladies cutting out the template , getting ready.

Fun and learning...

and concentration!

Soon, no doubt, you will see some completed Lantern quilts in our Show and Tell portion.

That's all for today folks,
